What’s new? Autumn Edition 2014 (CD)
Hey, everybody!
As I've promised in this post you'll find the information about upcoming CD releases! I'm SO excited about these albums, so I don't want to talk too much about my feelings here, I'm just gonna show you everything straight away!
On «Stella di Napoli» (Star of
Naples) the American mezzo-soprano breathes new life into little-known arias by
Mercadante, Michele Carafa, Carlo Valentini and the opera composer Giovanni
Pacini, whose «Stella di Napoli» gives the album its title. Also Joyce presents
a sumptuous Bel Canto banquet with music by Bellini, Rossini and Donizetti,
including «Maria Stuarda».
The Russian baritone has recorded
his new CD with sacred works of Russian composers and Russian folk songs.
Alice Coote performs a selection of
Handel’s greatest arias from pieces like «Alcina», «Ariodante», «Radamisto»,
«Giulio Cesare in Egitto», «Hercules».
Elīna presents a beautiful selection
of spiritual music which includes sacred works by W. Gomez, G. Caccini, G.
Puccini, G. Bizet, P. Mascagni etc.
Jonas dedicates his new album to the
golden era of German music which flourished in Berlin between 1925 & 1935. The
repertoire draws from 3 strands of musical history: talking movies, operetta
and polystylistic composers.
The amazing compilation of arias
from four Jonas’ CDs: «Romantic Arias», «Wagner», «Mozart, Schubert, Beethoven
& Wagner», «Verismo Arias».
Soprano Patricia Petibon returns to
French repertoire, exploring the fascinating world of French art song in her
new album. The CD features all-time favourites by Satie, Fauré, Poulenc,
Reynaldo Hahn, Manuel Rosenthal, but also popular hits by Léo Ferré.
In this recording Placido Domingo
shows us the exciting world of mediterranean songs of Italy, Spain, France,
Cyprus and other south European countries.
American soprano’s first-ever
holiday album celebrates the beloved and iconic Christmas season in New York
City. Renee Fleming’s elegant persona along with the intimate arrangements
of holiday classics makes this album perfect for holiday parties and as a
treasured holiday gift.
Cecilia Bartoli presents us the hidden
treasures of the Mariinsky theatre in her new album. The CD consists of the
Baroque pieces from the court of three 18th century Tsaristas: Anna, Elizabeth
and Catherine the Great. And there are even two arias which Cecilia sings in
Russian!
I'm always open to your suggestions about how to improve my blog! So don't hesitate to leave comments below. Do you like such types of posts? Maybe I should do it monthly? What do you think?
P.S. I've took some of the CD descriptions from a very good site Presto Classical.
Personally I fine this post very helpful and interesting. Sometimes new CD issues pass us by it is good to have a reminder of the goodies on offer. Thank you!
